We are so excited to invite you to a very special Harbour Books event next week to celebrate Pride month and introduce you to our new monthly QueerLit Book Club with one of our favourite authors, Rosa Rankin Gee.

QueerLit is an intergenerational, inclusive gathering for any and all LGBTIQA+ people and allies across Whitstable and beyond. We will be meeting each month to discuss a book chosen by our members. If you love books with queer themes or by queer authors and want to meet and chat with like-minded book pals then this is the place for you.

We can’t wait to get started, and we can’t think of a better novel to bring us all together than Dreamland, a coming of age lesbian love story set in a dystopian near future Margate. If you’ve already read it, that’s fantastic! But if you haven’t, it won’t matter a bit. This first meeting is a chance for a relaxed chat with Rosa and each other about Dreamland, its themes and characters, but it is also a chance to meet, socialise with each other enjoy our new space, and celebrate reading with pride!

We are offering the beautiful indie special edition of Dreamland (pictured) with it’s pretty sprayed edges exclusively to those who book a ticket to this event.

And as this is a bit of a special event, we’ve partnered with our lovely friends at the Twelve Taps who will provide a celebratory sea flavoured gin cocktail (or non-alcoholic equivalent) to mark this special Dreamland themed Pride event.

WHITSTABLE FIZZ
Whitstable Gin, Organic Prosecco, Lemon Salt, Samphire.
Delicious, very dry, salty fizz. A pure taste of the sea
