Minett, Deborah O’Connor and Chris Whitaker will be discussing their latest and upcoming novels, with a Q&A and signing session afterwards. All authors most recent novels will be available to purchase on the evening, and as always, we’ll be serving drinks too. Simon Booker is a crime novelist and screenwriter. His thrillers WITHOUT TRACE and KILL ME TWICE are published by Bonnier Zaffre. His TV credits include CBS rom-com Perfect Strangers starring Rob Lowe and Anna Friel, BBC1’s Mrs Bradley Mysteries starring Diana Rigg, and ITV thriller The Stepfather starring Philip Glenister.
Graham (GJ) Minett studied Languages at Churchill College, Cambridge before teaching for several years in Gloucestershire and West Sussex. In 2008 he completed a part-time MA in Creative Writing at the University of Chichester and subsequently won both the inaugural Segora short story competition in 2008 and the Chapter One competition in 2010. The latter consisted of the opening sections of what would eventually become his debut novel, The Hidden Legacy. This was followed by Lie In Wait and Anything For Her and he is now deep into his fourth novel, The Syndicate, which is scheduled for publication in July 2020. Now writing full-time, he is published by Bonnier Zaffre and represented by Adam Gauntlett of the Peters, Fraser and Dunlop Agency and lives in West Sussex with his wife and children.
Deborah O’Connor is a writer and TV producer. Her first novel My Husband’s Son was a bestseller, her new novel The Dangerous Kind has recently been published in hardback. Born and bred in the North-East of England she now lives in London with her husband and daughter.
Chris Whitaker was born in London and spent ten years working as a financial trader in the city. His debut novel, Tall Oaks, won the CWA John Creasey New Blood Dagger, and was short-listed for the CrimeFest Last Laugh Award. It was described as ‘A beautiful, brilliant, sad, funny book’ by Emma Flint, and ‘An absolute delight’ by the Guardian. Chris’s new novel, We Begin At The End, will be published in March 2020. Chris lives in Hertfordshire with his wife and two young sons.
