Welcome to Harbour Books
Hi, I’m Clare, the owner of Harbour Books since September 2020.
Harbour Books has been serving this community as a small, wildly independent bookshop for over 25 years. But in early 2020 with the onset of the pandemic the shop was forced to close its doors. I was lucky enough to take it over in September 2020. We reopened in early October 2020 following an intense month of refurbishment and restocking our shelves!
We now have a dedicated kids section in the back of the shop where younger readers are welcome to relax and settle in with a book. At the moment we are only using the ground floor of the shop but we are planning to expand into the upstairs as soon as we possibly can! We want to create a cosy haven for readers and writers and we look forward to being able to host literary events once again including; book launches, book clubs and poetry readings.
In the meantime all our fiction and non-fiction titles are housed on the ground floor. We stock a thoughtfully curated selection of titles across; contemporary and classic fiction, crime, thrillers, politics, poetry, biography, memoir, art, psychology, nature, gardening, travel, cookery and food writing.
Harbour Books is run by a small team of dedicated and knowledgeable booksellers; Clare, Liz, Katey and Sally. Please do pop in and ask us for recommendations or advice, or feel free to email us
