Every day we are approached by authors and publishers wanting us to stock their titles, and while we love hearing from you all, please bear in mind that we are a very small team with limited resources. We aim to get back to you as quickly as we can. In the meantime we’ve put together some basic information about how to approach us with the information we’d need to make a decision.

Please note this guide from the Bookseller’s Association is also very good and provides even more detail.

How to approach us if you want us to stock your title or titles?

Please contact us via email with the following information:

• Title, Author, Publisher and ISBN of your book
• Launch date (if the book isn’t out yet)
• A bit of detail about why you think the book would work well on our shelves? (This is really important, please have a look at our Instagram, online shop, bestsellers and if possible browse in store to help answer this).
• The RRP of the title
• Our discount (Industry baseline is normally 40%)
• Who to contact to order

Please do follow this process rather than popping in for a chat or calling us. We often don’t have the time when we are serving customers to give a conversation the attention it would deserve. But if you email us, we will always let you know if we need any further information from you. Normally we’ll aim to get back to you within 5-10 working days. If you are currently waiting on a reply from us we are sorry, the busy festive season allows very little time for us to review new material but we’ll be working our way through any backlog in January.

If we decide not to stock your book, please try not to be disheartened. We will aim to provide feedback but the biggest reason is usually that it just doesn’t quite work for our shop or customers. That doesn’t mean it wouldn’t work brilliantly in another bookshop.
